Melanie Ross, Esq.

I have been practicing exclusively in the field of employment law for more than 30 years.  I began my career in 1990 at Paul Hasings, and subsequently chose to work at smaller boutique employment firms. I have represented individuals, small to medium companies, and Fortune 500 Companies. Over 30 years I have gained experience in just about every aspect of employment law, including but not limited to drafting employee handbooks, employee contracts, severance & releases, litigating sexual harassment, age, sex, race and disability discrimination, wrongful termination, constructive discharge, and business disputes such as unfair competition and  trade secrets, wage and hour violations, employee exemptions, and claims under the Private Attorney General Act, just to name a few.

As a seasoned trial attorney, I learned how to avoid the mistakes which lead to expensive and time consuming lawsuits.

I graduated from Emory University, Phi Beta Kappa and from USC Gould School of Law, Notes Editor of the Law Review.  I am AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbel, the highest rating awarded, and have been selected as on of America's Best Lawyers.

I enjoy coming up with creative solutions to help clients reach their goals and avoid situations ending in costly and aggravating litigation.

I also serve as a neutral investigator for workplace misconduct  or harassment complaints and/or I advise Human Resources and company management how to conduct a fair, thorough and legally compliant investigation of employee complaints.

I have prevailed in numerous jury trials, bench trials and Arbitrations in cases for harassment, sex discrimination, wrongful termination, whistle-blowing, wage and hour law and PAGA meal and rest break claims, just to name a few.  I continue to represent clients in Arbitrations, Mediations and State and Federal Agencies.
